Travelling with the Art Gallery Society offers so much more than simply an art tour overseas.
In conjunction with Renaissance Tours, the Art Gallery Society is offering again a wide range of tours in 2011. From Russian Treasures to Jewels of India, there is a tour to suit everyone.
Reflecting the great diversity of world art and culture, the 2011 tours will be led by several new tour leaders, including Julian Droogan, archaeologist and lecturer in comparative religion; University of Sydney lecturer in archaeology, Wendy Reade; Lorraine Kypiotios, art history lecturer at the National Art School; Sydney Morning Herald art critic, John McDonald and Holly Kerr-Forsyth, author and garden writer for The Weekend Australian. Popular tour leaders, mostly drawn from Gallery staff – Terence Maloon, Ann MacArthur, Liz Gibson, Brian Ladd and art critic for The Australian, Christopher Allen, will again lead tours to destinations that have become perennial favourites with Art Gallery Society travellers.
2011 promises to be a year packed with stimulating travel adventures for art, architecture and garden lovers as well as, for the first time, a sketching tour.
