Scott McGregor
Scott McGregor is a well known media personality from over 25 years of work as an actor, presenter and producer. His passion for travel and history is given a free rein in his current TV role as presenter of the History Channel’s feature project The Stamp of Australia due for release in 2009. This follows his work as the presenter and co-producer of the 4 part series Australian Icon Towns currently screening on the History Channel.
Scott’s 6-part railway adventure series Down The Line exploring the great train journeys of Australia, New Zealand and Vietnam was a ratings winner for Channel 7 in 2004 and followed on from his popular series Railway Adventures Across Australia for Channel 10.
Scott hosted Channel Seven’s ratings winning Room For Improvement from 2000 to 2003 and was the DIY presenter on Better Homes and Gardens for over 4 years. He also spent a number of years as the antiques and collectables presenter on Foxtel’s Lifestyle Channel and was a travel presenter on their lifestyle program Out and About.
Prior to working as a Presenter Scott trained as an actor at NIDA and since 1979 has featured in more than 40 TV series and films, as well as dozens of stage plays, musicals and radio features. He sites starring roles in the ABC’s epic mini-series 1915 and the Coral Island and stage shows Bouncers and the Promise as career highlights.
Scott has also run Off The Rails Collectables, his own Antiques and Collectables business with a distinctly railway theme and in 2005 he opened Ruwenzori Retreat, a luxury mountain top tourist hideaway at Mudgee he built from a collection of vintage railway carriages. His latest book Big Boys Toys is due for release later in 2008 and follows hot on the heels of his first book Fix-It.
