Details are still being finalised but plans are underway for a major tour to Asia in October 2009 by the Sydney Symphony under the musical direction of Vladimir Ashkenazy who will shortly join the orchestra as Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor.

Music lovers are invited to join the Sydney Symphony at the prestigious Beijing Music Festival. Enjoy a week of classical music presented by orchestras, ensembles and soloists from around the world as you discover all the highlights of this extraordinary city.

Following the week in Beijing, there will be optional extensions to all the famous highlights of China, including Xi’an and the Terracotta Warriors, Yangtze River, Guilin and Shanghai.
